Travelogue / Roland Garros Tennis

I'm an avid tennis fan. Having played for many years myself, I always enjoy a live match, and have been lucky enough to attend a few championship after-parties too. Recently, I spent the day on Court 1 at Roland Garros, Paris. It was blindingly hot at 36 degrees celsius, with beautiful blue skies and great competition. Always worth a day out.

London / Anna Sui Event

Anna Sui is one of the great storytellers in American fashion. Thanks to the Fashion & Textile Museum here in London, I was able to attend a curated discussion "Meet the Exhibition Curator and Team: The World of Anna Sui" about their current exhibition on her works. I even spotted Anna Sui herself, there outside the exhibit.

Anna has created a number of archetypal characters repeated throughout her collections, as well as whole environments (interiors included) to match. Even if her distinctive style is not your own, the exhibit is worth a visit, to better understand her design process.

Scandi Styling / Mayfair Ruffles

This take on the ruffle blouse is a mix of Swedish and French style - that pleated high neck reminds me of traditional Scandi necklines, and the embroidery is always approved by the bobo Parisienne. Mixed it with an ever-chic basket bag (also a French favourite), and Felice Dahl jewellery: Första Pendant NecklaceFörsta EarringsFörsta Rings, Ljus Bangle and Ljus Ring.

London / V&A London Uprising Launch

Thanks to London's Victoria & Albert Museum, I was able to attend the book launch of "London Uprising: Fifty Fashion Designers, One City", which compiles stories of world-known as well as more recently established London fashion brands.

I listened to a panel speak on the tome, then enjoyed drinks in the Silver hall, overlooking the V&A's beautiful courtyard.

It was thought-provoking to hear the co-editors, journalist Sarah Mower and Co-founder British Fashion Council Trust Tania Fares, discuss their experiences with institutionalized emerging London fashion, especially at a time when it feels as though the rest of the world is shifting its focus onto digital entrepreneurs who carve out their own paths.

As a London designer myself, it was specifically pertinent to hear about experiences from established names Nicholas Kirkwood and Molly Goddard.
